Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - London To Cochin
Fly from LondonHeathrow, arriving the next day.
Day 2 - Cochin
Transfer to the DREAM HOTEL, Cochin for one night.
Day3 - Cochin/Munnar
Morning leave for Munnar. Stay for two nights at TEA COUNTRY HOTEL.
A small mist laden hill station located at 1600 M above sea level and which was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Afternoon visit the Tea Museum.
Day4 - Munnar
Visit the Eravikulam National park in Rajamalai and home to the largest population of the endangered nilgiri tahr (wild goats). The incredibly agile Nilgiri Tahr is today the pride of Munnar and its mascot. Afternoon visit the Madupetty Dam. Evening return back to resort.
Day5 - Munnar/Thekkady
Morning leave for Thekkady for two nights. Stay at SPICE VILLAGE.
Thekkady is situated in the southern segment of the Western Ghats in the Cardamom Hills at an altitude of 900 to 6000 ft. The Periyar Tiger Reserve is one of the 18 hot spots in the world recognized for their biodiversity. Afternoon visit a Tribal Village built inside Mannan settlement, the earliest people to inhabit Periyar Tiger Reserve. They have various types of artifacts related to agriculture, marriage ceremonies, cultural events, etc.
Day6 - Thekkady
Early morning enjoy a boat ride in the lake to see wildlife in their natural habitat at close quarters from the safety of a boat on the lake. Afternoon go on a guided plantation tour into a spice plantation where pepper, cardamom, vanilla, etc is grown. Evening back to the resort.
Day7 - Thekkady/Kumarakom
Morning leave for Kumarakom. Overnight stay at COCONUT LAGOON.
Thekkady after breakfast, drive to Kumarakom, the heart of the famous backwaters of Kerala.
Day8 - Kumarakom/Alleppey
Morning proceed to Alleppey. Embark on an exciting houseboat cruise. Board the traditional houseboat at noon and start the long and meandering ride through the unique backwaters of Kerala in a thatched roof houseboat.
Overnight at A/C HOUSE BOAT.
Day9 - Alleppey/Kovalam
In the morning leave for Kovalam . Stay for two night at TRAVANCO HERITAGE.
An internationally renowned tourist destination. Evening watch the sunset on the Kovalam beach. The Kovalam beach is one of the best beaches in India.
Day10 - Negombo/Pinnawela/Habarana
Fly from Trivendrum to Colombo.
Morning leave for Habarana (Aprx. 156KM, 4½ hours drive). En route visit the popular Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Stay for two nights at CHAAYA VILLAGE 4*, HABARANA.
Day 11 - Habarana/Sigiriya/Polonnaruwa/Habarana
In the morning, visit the rock fortress of Sigiriya. A climb to the top (only for the energetic!) will reveal a spectacular view. The gallery of frescoes half way up is a definite highlight.
Late afternoon, sightseeing tour to Polonnaruwa, the 12th Century Sinhalese capital.
Overnight stay at CHAAYA VILLAGE 4*, HABARANA.
Day 12 - Habarana/Kandy
Drive to Kandy for a two nights stay at CHAAYA CITADEL 4* (aprx. 96 KM, 2½ hours drive). En route, visit the magnificent Dambulla rock caves, a spice plantation and batik workshop. Evening witness a culture show.
Day13 - Kandy/Kalutara
Half a day of enchanting sightseeing in Kandy with visits to Temple of the Tooth Relic, local handy craft, Gem museum,. Thereafter leave for Kalutara. Rest of the day leisure at the hotel or by the beach. Transfer to Kalutara (aprx. 145KM, 4 - 5 hours drive) and relax at the beach for three nights at TANGERINE BEACH HOTEL.
Day 14 & 15 - Kalutara - Leisure by the beach.
Day 16 - Kalutara/London
Transfer to the Airport (aprx 85KM, 2 hours drive) Fly Sri Lankan Airlines to Heathrow arriving later
the same day.
